BRILLIANT COLORS TRIO

This trio delivers a diverse palette of modern jazz guitar melodies, backed by dynamic acoustic bass and finely textured drum rhythms. Together, they explore original compositions by Helgeson, and catchy arrangements by Django Reinhardt, Pat Metheny, Bill Frisell and others.

Glen Helgeson – leader and guitarist, Glen has released eight albums throughout his career, won a Minnesota Music Award, and received a Walker Art Center commissioned grant. “Helgeson is a technically masterful player who fuses exotic rhythms with soulful, intelligent leads.”  Tad Simons, MSP St.Paul Magazine. 

Jim Chenoweth – bassist, Jim is a highly regarded bass player from the Twin Cities jazz scene, tours locally and nationally and has performed with numerous local jazz musicians. One of the most requested drummers on the local jazz circuit,

Nathan Norman – drummer, Nathan has performed in a variety of musical settings including performances with the Louisville Symphony, Mannheim Steamroller, the Percussion Group Cincinnati, the Minnesota Orchestra, Illusion Theater and various Twin Cities jazz artists. Nathan has been performing and recording as a freelance musician in the Twin Cities area since 1988.
